Wow, Sora 2 Examples Are Blowing Up Right Now
OpenAI just launched Sora 2, their cutting-edge AI video and audio generation model, and it’s absolutely breaking the internet right now. As someone who’s been testing AI video tools for years, I can tell you that these Sora 2 examples are unlike anything I’ve seen before.
This isn’t just another incremental update—Sora 2 represents what OpenAI calls the “GPT-3.5 moment for video,” building on the original Sora model from February 2024. The launch of their invite-only Sora social app has created a viral sensation, with users generating everything from 90’s toy commercials to SpongeBob police chases. Trust me, after you see these 10 Sora 2 examples, you’ll understand why everyone’s talking about it.
The Sora 2 Social App: The “TikTok for AI”
So here’s what makes the Sora app different from traditional AI video generators. OpenAI launched this as an invite-only iOS app that lets you create, remix other people’s generations, discover new videos in a customizable feed, and drop yourself into any scene using their “cameos” feature. It’s basically the TikTok for AI-generated content, but with way more creative control.
What’s really cool is how the platform encourages collaboration. Unlike other AI video tools like Kling 2.5 Turbo, Sora is designed as a social experience first. You’re not just generating videos in isolation—you’re sharing, remixing, and building on what others create. The app even uses natural language to customize your feed, so you see content that inspires your own creations. When you compare Sora to competitors like Meta Vibes and Google Veo, the social aspect is what really sets it apart.
Before we get started with the top 10 videos
I have to show you these skating cat videos I generated. Why? Because it’s my article and I can do whatever I want. So here you go, enjoy Tony Pawk.
The 10 Sora 2 Examples That Will Wow You
1. Saving Private Pikachu
This first Sora 2 example completely blew me away. Justine Moore on X reimagined Saving Private Ryan—but with Pikachu in the lead—and the result is hilariously good. You have to see it to appreciate just how impressive Sora 2’s video quality really is.
This is easily one of the best AI videos I’ve seen yet. The way Sora 2 generated each scene feels incredibly realistic—like something straight out of a major blockbuster. The attention to detail in capturing the film’s aesthetic is absolutely next-level.
Justine Moore also used Sora 2 to mash up The Dark Knight and The Godfather with Pikachu in it.
2. Gen Z Lord Of The Rings
Another great generation from Solo on X, this time Lord of the Rings, that’s more Gen Z style. So good, check it out.
These two Lord of the Rings examples are incredible—they really show how far AI creativity has come in terms of quality and realism. They’re amazing to watch.
Bonus Video: Woke Lord of the Rings
This next Sora 2 example is from Solo on X, and he asked SORA to imagine if Lord of the Rings was a Woke Film—the video is hilariously impressive and perfectly captures that reimagined vibe.
This is so funny, a perfect reimagined version that plays with modern film trends. The cinematography and dialogue delivery feel authentic to the big-budget production film, which shows how far AI video generation has come.
3. Super Mario Police Chase
Next, Ror_Fly on X asked Sora to generate a realistic body cam footage of a police officer pulling over Super Mario in his Mario Kart. This Sora 2 example is pure comedy gold.
This is so great, it feels almost like real bodycam footage. The news copter cam adds another level of realism as well, great job. The way Sora handled the perspective shifts and maintained consistency throughout the scene is impressive.
4. SpongeBob Breaks Bad
Next, Vox Oculi prompted Sora to generate SpongeBob SquarePants meeting Breaking Bad—a parody mashup that’s become one of the most popular Sora 2 examples online.
The quality of this video blew me away. It’s so good. It’s almost high-budget movie quality, and the dialogue is spot on, too. The way Sora 2 captured the SpongeBob SquarePants animation style while maintaining Breaking Bad’s character is masterful.
5. 80’s Retro Toy Ad Parody Commercial
Next up, Solopopsss asked SORA to make an 80s-style parody ad about a new kids’ toy and its expansion packs, and this Sora 2 example nails the retro aesthetic perfectly.
Another amazing generation by Solo, this commercial felt so 80s, it’s incredible. It even included the bad TV static effect on the video, very well done. The color grading and audio quality transport you straight back to Saturday morning cartoons.
6. Michael Jackson’s AI Slop Rant
Next, we have a Michael Jackson video that has gone viral in the Sora community. For this Sora 2 example, Faikouts generated this video of Michael Jackson getting tired of Sora 2 content being called AI slop.
Wow, the quality of the video and the emotional delivery from Michael make this look and sound so real. Incredible work—the lip sync and facial expressions are nearly flawless.
Bonus Michael Jackson Clip
I had to include another Michael Jackson video because they are so good. Faikouts asked Sora to generate a video of Michael Jackson and a bear in the woods. This interaction is hilarious and shows another side of what Sora 2 can achieve.
Another great generation from Faikouts, this one looks and sounds so real, too. And the interaction is so funny, I can’t stop giggling at this one. The way Sora handles both the human likeness and animal reaction simultaneously is impressive.
7. SpongeBob Fleeing Police
Another police bodycam video, this time SpongeBob is pulled over and can’t handle the cops’ questioning. By the way, I wish Sora would add a watermark of the creator to every video so we can follow them for more content. This looks like a repost account.
What gets me is the arm trembling and at the end of the video, when SpongeBob says, “I can’t get a ticket again” and then drives off—so hilariously good. These bodycam-style Sora 2 examples are becoming a whole genre on the platform.
8. Rick and Morty Discover Sora 2
Next, Ibrahim used Sora 2 to generate a Rick and Morty scene where the duo discusses Sora 2 itself — and honestly, it’s one of the most impressive examples of Sora 2 I’ve seen so far.
This generation turned out incredibly well — it looks just like the actual Rick and Morty animation, complete with authentic-sounding voiceovers and dialogue. I’m seriously impressed!
9. Ash Runs From The Police
This next one is pretty good—gnrlyxyz prompted a body cam footage of a police officer confronting Ash Ketchum in an alley for illegal Pokémon fights and cruelty. Let’s check out this Sora 2 example.
Bodycam cop videos are trending with Sora 2 right now, you’ll see cats and dogs in police chases, which makes it even more hilarious lol. The way creators are using this format shows the versatility of the platform.
10. Sam Altman Dances On A Train
Lastly, I needed to include one of my own generations in this article. This is one of the first Sora 2 examples I created—I prompted Sam Altman dances ballet in full costume on top of a moving subway train at night. This is the result.
This one came out great, but I had to generate a few videos to get the best one. That’s something important to understand about Sora—it’s not always perfect on the first try, but when you get it right, it’s magical.
Hands-On: My Experience & Thoughts
Initially, Sora 2 didn’t wow me the way Kling 2.5 Turbo did. With Kling, most of my generations came out flawless on the first try, while with Sora 2, you usually have to generate a few times to get the best results. But when you finally do, it’s both magical and addictive.
Paired with the new mobile iPhone app, you’ve basically got a new social media AI addiction on your hands. I kept finding myself pulling out my phone to generate a video whenever inspiration struck—walking down the street, waiting in line, or just doing everyday things. It’s surprisingly addictive to be able to create high-quality AI videos on the go.
Sora 2 delivers realistic physics, synchronized dialogue and sound effects, and can handle complex scenarios like Olympic gymnastics routines or accurate object interactions that previous models struggled with. Ultimately, I’m a fan of the new Sora 2 and its social app for AI videos. As you can tell from the clips that follow, I spent most of my time generating funny videos—and I had a blast doing it.
My Closing Thoughts
Sora 2 is a complete game-changer for marketers, agencies, and digital creators like us. These Sora 2 examples prove that AI video generation has reached a point where the line between AI-created and traditionally-produced content is getting harder to spot. The model excels at realistic, cinematic, and anime styles while maintaining consistent world state across multiple shots.
What excites me most is the creative widespread access happening right now. You don’t need a huge production budget or fancy equipment to create viral content anymore—just creativity and an invite to the Sora app. If you want to learn more about OpenAI’s technology and how Sora 2 works, I recommend checking out their official documentation.
